The Defeat Diabetes way of eating is low in carbs and avoids seed oils so is likely to improve your LDL profile. While a diet high in saturated fat might increase your overall LDL cholesterol, it is carbohydrates and seed oils that turn LDL cholesterol 'bad'.
That is, not all LDL is bad. Only a portion of LDL called the small dense variety seems to increase your risk of heart disease. Other LDL actually appears beneficial. And this is supported by multiple research papers which seem to indicate that people with higher LDL levels tend to live longer.
